Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo photographed high on a mountain in Queensland, Australia, one very foggy dawn. This iconic bird portrait has been captured because I befriended these amazingly intelligent birds and they then just came to visit often. They are curious and funny and their images deserve a place on everyone's wall.
About Carol Walden
I am an Australian artist/writer living in the land of Oz. I come from a nomadic family of French artists, orchestral musicians and circus performers. Art and the nomadic life is in my genes! I have been creating art and painting commissions (mostly portraits) for about 30 years. My art lives in collections in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Netherlands and other pieces may have travelled to other countries with their collectors. However, my art journey began with entering an open-age art competition when I was eight (8) years old. The first prize was a brand new Malvern Star bicycle. I didn't have a bicycle and I wanted one desperately! My father was the most amazing sketch artist I have ever known...even now. He coached me...
